The Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival, as we told you previously, has been cancelled this year because of concerns about COVID-19. Now, according to the local newspaper, some other local organizations are having second thoughts about holding events in Cowley County. The governing boards of the Cowley County Fair, K&O Steam and Gas Engine Show, and Last Run Car Show all now say they plan to meet soon to decide whether to hold or cancel this year’s events. If you are wondering about the fate of this year’s Arkalalah Festival… organizers of that event have so far, indicated that they are committed to hold a full festival. As of right now, the Cowley County Fair is still scheduled to take place from July 30 through August 3. As for the Engine show set for August 14th through the 16th at the Winfield Fairgrounds, organizers say a decision will be made on the first Monday in July. The Last Run Car Show is still set for September 25th through the 27th in Ark City, and so far, no final decision has been made on that event, but the club is planning to meet on June 21st to vote on it.
