It now appears that there could soon be a new Arkansas City Manager to replace Nick Hernandez. Ark City Commissioners report that they have interviewed the four candidates recommended by a consulting firm that was hired to solicit, screen and recommend candidates, and those interviews went well. After meeting to discuss it in executive session, city leaders say they now have settled on one of those candidates, and they have talked in more detail with that person, and are now awaiting his reply. No additional details are yet being released, because the potential new city manager has not yet accepted the position… which officially has been offered. The city is currently working on the contract. They did say however, that the final choice has many qualities that stand out. He is from is one of the fastest growing cities in Kansas. Current City Manager Nick Hernandez will be leaving on June 1st. He has accepted a new position as city manager in Dodge City. Interestingly… Hernandez came back from a cruise on spring break and then quarantined for 14 days. His quarantine ended Monday and he is fine.
