A Newkirk man was arrested by Ark City Police early Friday morning after they say he threatened someone. 26 year old Jeremy Cahoon is now facing one felony count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threat, plus one count of criminal damage to property, after officers were called to an apartment on North 13th Street in Arkansas City just after 1am Friday, where Cahoon is accused of threatening a 24 year old Ark City woman with a knife… saying he was going to kill her because of a debt. When police got there, the woman and her children had already safely gotten out of the apartment. Cahoon was taken to the Cowley County Jail, where he was held in lieu of $13,000 bond after officers came in and finally found Cahoon hiding in the attic, where he had damaged the roof trying to escape.
