A vehicle pursuit turned into a ground search in Arkansas City on Friday, where police nabbed one suspect, but the search continued at last word, for another. The two are accused of stealing a vehicle out of Wichita, and they led police on a high-speed chase through Ark City. Police attempted to stop the driver of a 1991 Honda Accord just after 12:30 Friday afternoon on North Summit Street, after the driver fled through the parking lot of the Ark Valley Credit Union, then headed west onto West Kansas Avenue, and ran the stop sign at Eighth Street and the signal at 10th Street at about 85 mph. The stolen vehicle later was discovered at a house at the corner of West Kansas Avenue and 23rd Street, where a woman was taken into custody at 1:10 p.m. A second suspect got away. The woman… whose name has not been released… was locked up in the Cowley County Jail.
