A rally was held Saturday in Winfield to protest the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minnesota police officer who has since been not only fired, but arrested and charged in connection with that death. The peaceful protest lasted from 1 to 6 p.m. People stood at the intersection of Ninth Avenue and Main Street holding signs protesting the incident which led to riots in Minneapolis that have now spread to cities across the country, including some here in Kansas, such as Topeka and Wichita. A second protest is planned in Winfield for next weekend, although a specific date has not yet been chosen.
