Cowley County (KS), August 12, 2020: Registration is now available for the 2020 Virtual Programming of Leadership Cowley County (LCC). Leadership Cowley County (LCC), a community leadership initiative with the mission to equip and build capacity in people to create change in self, our community and the world, has planned a series of virtual offerings in place of an in-person Fall 2020 class. The virtual sessions are not only a call to those who are already aware of their leadership skills, but are also a means for developing skills in those who are not sure of their leadership capabilities.
A powerful program of integrated sessions emphasizing the four Kansas Leadership Center (KLC) competencies, the Leadership Cowley County program is dedicated to training individuals from all backgrounds, education and skill sets in the principles of both personal and civic leadership. Typically, class members learn about and visit various locations in the county, as well as meet and interact with other leaders throughout the area.
This year, due to the current crisis, Leadership Cowley County is going virtual. Participants can expect the same high quality, community-focused learning opportunities experienced in our in-person programming. 2020 Virtual Programming will use Cowley County issues and challenges as the case study for session discussion. The curriculum for the program is based in the work of the Kansas Leadership Center (KLC), a globally recognized leadership development organization funded by a core-operating grant from the Kansas Health Foundation.
What should you expect from 2020 Virtual LCC?
o Kansas Leadership Center curriculum
o experienced facilitators to deepen your understanding of KLC competencies using Cowley County issues
o a call to action: leadership is an activity that you can be a part of
o transformational skill sets needed to improve your capacity to interact productively with others
There is NO COST for this year’s virtual experience. It is participant choice – register for just one session or sign-up for them all. (Program content may stand alone, but is better comprehended building from week-to-week.) Those attending and participating in ALL SESSIONS will receive a certification of completion and a 25% tuition discount for a future in-person program. Pre-registration is required. In order to allow for greater participation, sessions take place on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. September 10 through October 22 via Zoom.
