During the Thanksgiving Safe Arrival traffic enforcement campaign just completed, the Arkansas City Police Department conducted overtime patrols to aggressively target the unrestrained driver while upholding all Kansas traffic laws. Over the period of Nov. 19-27, officers wrote (4) adult/ teen safety belt citations, (2) child restraint citations, and issued (4) speeding citations, along with (10) other citations and arrests. All told, officers made (10) enforcement stops during the campaign. “We do our best to ensure you are as safe as you can be while on our roads. Please buckle up. Your family, friends, and others are counting on you,” said Arkansas City Police Chief Eric Burr. While this campaign may be over, Arkansas City Police Department will remain vigilant in enforcing Kansas traffic safety laws.
