Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti’s Office has released a statement, saying the case involving the death of Jacob Nettrouer continues to be investigated, and the sheriff says it was not an officer involved shooting. According to the sheriff’s information, one Deputy was present outside the residence and one was on their way to do a civil stand-by for a bondsman who was at the house to take Jacob back to jail for a bond revocation. The sheriff says it was not an attempted arrest by law enforcement. When deputes heard gunfire they immediately made contact with the victim and attempted life saving measures. A preliminary autopsy lists the cause of death as a single gunshot wound. The case continues to be investigated and it will be turned over to the Cowley County Attorney for review.
