The Ark City Police Department says yesterday afternoon they were called to the 700 block of South A Street, Arkansas City, for a possible shooting. Officers found a 35-year-old victim of Wichita in the street, who sustained gunshot wounds to his lower body. At about the same time as the initial call, officers were made aware of a blue Dodge Durango leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. Initial reports indicated that the suspect was possibly leaving the scene in that vehicle. Officers found the vehicle, attempted to conduct a stop on the vehicle when it sped up, and then led officers on a pursuit south out of the city limits. Officers maintained contact with the suspect vehicle, which eventually crashed on Home Road about 3 miles west of US 77 in Oklahoma. A 21-year-old Arkansas City man was taken into custody at that scene. At the scene in Arkansas City, officers checked a residence adjacent to where the victim was found. As a result, officers took custody of a 31-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both of Arkansas City.
