A bail bondsman who is accused of shooting a man in Cambridge back in February, claims the shooting was in self-defense. Edward Runyan of Fast Eddy’s Bail Bonds of Wichita, was at the home of Jake Nettrouer back on Feb. 23 for a bond revocation after Nettrouer was arrested in November 2019. At that time, he was charged with theft, drug distribution and possession, and criminal possession of a firearm. The case was closed however, after Nettrouer’s death. Meanwhile, the victim’s family has been calling for action. Runyan spoke with the local newspaper, saying that what happened between the two men caused him to fear for his life, and led to the shooting. As of Friday, The Cowley County Attorney’s Office had not filed any charges, but they say they are still reviewing the case.
