You can now get a drink on Sunday in Winfield… that after city commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance allowing packaged liquor sales on Sundays and also on some holidays between noon and 8. The holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. Thanksgiving and Christmas, along with Easter Sunday however, will still be restricted to no sales. The new liquor law is being called an extension of the policy allowing cereal malt beverage sales on Sundays, which went into effect about a year ago.
