Cowley deputies were kept busy they say this week… on Wednesday… investigating two one-vehicle injury accidents that took place in two different parts of the county. The first was reported at 8:55am Wednesday at the intersection of 322nd Road and U.S. 77 Highway… a one-vehicle rollover. Investigators say Gerald Wilkerson, of Missouri, was northbound on U.S. 77 when he lost control of his vehicle and ran into the ditch, before the vehicle rolled over and came to rest. Wilkerson was taken by ambulance to South Central Kansas Medical Center for treatment. Then, about three hours later, deputies were called out again, this time to 101st Road and 92nd Road for a one-vehicle injury accident. Brandy Long, of Arkansas City, was traveling east on 292nd Road when deputies say she lost control of her car, ran off the road and into the ditch, then back out before finally ending up in a hedge row. Long refused medical treatment at the scene.
