Two-year-old dies from heat

On August 10, 2021, at approximately 6:07 p.m., Medical personnel and Deputies with the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a rural residence in southern Cowley County for an unresponsive two-year-old child. Early indications show that the child died due to heat. The case is still under investigation. There appears to be no foul play at this time.
