Walgreens in Arkansas City has now officially closed. The store closed at the end of the day Wednesday. It has stood at the corner of Summit Street and Radio Lane for 12 years. The closing comes after an announcement last year by Walgreens, of their plan to close approximately 200 stores nationwide. As of August 2019, the company listed a total of 9,277 stores across the country. 71 of them were in Kansas, including the Arkansas City store.
