The Ark City Police Department says with additional rain headed our way, please stay alert for flooded streets, low-water crossings, and areas with standing water. đźš— Flood Safety Reminders: • Turn Around, Don’t Drown – never drive through flooded roadways. • Just a few inches of moving water can make driving dangerous. • Slow down during heavy rain and increase your following distance. • Watch for road closures and barricades. They’re there for a reason. • Avoid walking through floodwaters. You never know what’s beneath the surface. • If you encounter a flooded roadway, find an alternate route. Remember, your vehicle is not a boat, no matter how confident you are in its abilities. Stay weather aware, use caution, and help us keep everyone safe.
