Chaplin Nature Center says it has received several inches of rain in the last couple of days. Visitors should expect very muddy wet conditions on all trails, with many of our lower trails currently flooded. The north section of the River trail just past the big chair is currently impassable. As river levels continue to rise, the big sandbar will also be inaccessible until levels recede. Additional rainfall is forecast throughout the coming week, so conditions may continue to change. We encourage visitors to call or text for the latest trail updates before making the trip.
