Legacy Regional Community Foundation presented the Winfield Arts & Humanities Council (WAHC) with a $1,000 grant on May 28th for their Summer Youth Art Program. The grant will be used for Summer Scholarships for families with children on state insurance or that qualify for free/reduced lunches in their school district. Qualifying families receive a 50% off discount on five classes per child at the WAHC.
The WAHC offers a wide variety of arts and craft classes in all different mediums and disciplines for ages 2-18. Most classes are 45 minutes each day, Monday through Friday, for one week. These classes encourage socialization, exploration through art and activities, experimentation, and practicing fine-motor skills and problem solving. There are over 180 different classes to choose from June 1st through July 31st.
